Let’s go to Porvoo

Hello everybody! I hope you have spent a good Easter with family or parents or with you want. Today I would like to speack about one of my favorite olace here in Finland, Porvoo.

Porvoo is one of Finland’s six mediaeval towns, and in the Old Town, the district dating back to the time of Swedish rule, you can still sense the atmosphere of the mediaeval town. Historically, Porvoo has been an important centre of trade and the shore houses were once used to store goods and produce, such as exotic delicacies from distant lands.

Located about 50 kilometres east from Helsinki, it is possible to travel from the capital to Porvoo by steamboat expecially  in summer. Even though Porvoo is not exactly a coastal town, it is connected to the Gulf of Finland via the Porvoo River. The river flows through the city, passing Porvoo’s most well-known landmarks: its red shore houses, originally  painted red in honour of the arrival of Gustav III, the king of Sweden.

If you like to travel and you like the romantic and peaceful landscape you definetly have to go there, you will be spellbound by the beauty of that place
